Jack's take

This is Tasmania Campers' budget option for small groups — perfect for backpackers or anyone watching their dollars. The Trail Finder seats 5 people but only has 2 double beds, so it works better for groups of 4 or less. The bottom bed can technically fit 3 people (that's the "+1"), but you'll want a separate tent if you're actually travelling as 5.

You'll be setting up and packing down the beds daily since you need the space for seating and the table during the day. Storage is limited due to the vehicle size, but the cooking and living areas give you somewhere comfortable to hang out when the weather turns.

Being budget-friendly means you're not getting a pristine vehicle — expect some wear and tear from years of use. Set realistic expectations. First-timers who are backpackers or budget-conscious can do well here, but there are newer options if that matters to you.

One essential: book campgrounds with toilet and shower facilities. This van doesn't have any.
