This is a no-frills, budget flat-top camper — a good fit for backpackers, solo travellers or couples watching their spending. One thing that's not in the specs: it's got an Esky/ice box instead of a fridge, so you'll be buying ice, not just groceries.
You can't stand up inside, so it suits people who are happy living outdoors and using the campsite as their living room rather than the van. Book into caravan parks with good facilities, especially on longer trips, because you'll be relying on them more than you would in a bigger van.
It drives just like a normal car, which is the upside. The trade-off is size — it's smaller than other campervan options, so it gets cramped fast if you're stuck inside on a rainy day.
We'd put a first-timer in this one, as long as you're comfortable driving manual. That said, if it's your first campervan trip, there are options with more facilities that'll make life easier. This one's better suited to people who know what they're getting into.
One tip before you head off: check your route and stick to sealed roads. Like the other 2WD campers, this one isn't allowed on unsealed roads.
