Campervan Village Grip 4x4 5 Seater Camper

Please note: Campervan Village sources vehicles for this category from several different vehicle manufacturers. The images, and layouts shown should be used as a guide only. Specific vehicle styles, layout configurations and interior design may vary to that shown.

Travelling in a 4WD camper allows you to have your kind of holiday. There's no need for set itineraries or timetables, travel at your own pace. Experience the land, culture and people of Australia without blowing your budget with Grip 4WD Camper. There's no better way to explore Australia!

Jack's take

The Grip 4x4 gets you to remote locations that standard 2WD campervans can't reach. With dual rooftop tents, it's built for experienced campers who know what they're doing outdoors.

You'll use about 10L per 100km — better fuel consumption than the big motorhomes that sleep the same number of people. But 4WD capability comes at a cost — expect to pay more than 2WD options.

This isn't a beginner's vehicle. You need camping experience to make the most of it. The setup works fine for a week if you're comfortable with outdoor living, but first-timers should look elsewhere.

Two important things to remember: pack your own bedding (it's not included), and 4WD doesn't mean you can go everywhere — some locations are still off-limits, so check the route restrictions before you book.
