Do I require a special license to hire a Star RV Campervan?

No. All vehicles can be driven on a full standard driving license and Star RV accept Australian and international licenses in English. Where a license is not in English it must be supported with an International Drivers permit.

Are Star RV Campervans easy to drive?

Yes. Star RV Campervans come with automatic transmission, most are equipped with reversing cameras and all are less than 12 months old. This ensures that you will be driving vehicles fitted with the latest design features to make your drive simple, straightforward and safe.

Can child seats be fitted?

The 6 berth Hercules and 4 berth Pandora campervans can accommodate child booster seats in the rear. These need to be requested when making your booking.

What does the Rental fee include?

Star RV include all bedding and cooking equipment, cutlery & crockery, bath and tea towels, accidental damage & liability cover and free Wi-Fi (with data limits).

Is a Bond required?

Yes a bond is required when hiring a Star RV vehicle. Depending on whether the optional Star Pack is taken the bond applied to the hirer's credit card will vary between $7500 and $250.

How long does the battery last?

Each Campervan operates a dual battery system, one to support the engine and the other for living accommodation. Depending on usage this battery will last for between 12 and 20 hours. Batteries will recharge when connected to mains power (recommended every 48 hours) or will trickle charge when driving.

Are there Restrictions on where I can drive my Star RV rental?

Star RV allow their vehicle to be driven on any sealed road in Australia and up to 12km on unsealed roads to designated campgrounds. There are certain seasonal restrictions applied, particularly in Northern and Outback Australia.

How do I pay for Road Tolls?

Hirers are responsible for road toll payments. These can be made via the toll company's website and should be actioned within 48 hours of travel. Alternatively Star RV can make the payment on your behalf but will charge an administration fee.

What happens if I breakdown?

Star RV provide a 24-hour roadside assistance toll free number.

Where can I park overnight?

Australia is richly populated with campgrounds and holiday parks; these are the recommended locations for overnight stays. Whilst freedom camping is available particularly in parts of Western Australia, it is prohibited in many areas with fines being applicable and not recommended. It can be confusing to work out whether freedom camping is permitted or not therefore the safer bet is to use designated campgrounds which will likely have powered sites.
