What Driving License do I need to hire a JUCY Campervan?

JUCY require drivers to be aged 18 years or older and holding a full drivers license. JUCY permit Australian P2 Green P plate license holders to rent their vehicles. Red P Plate licensed drivers are not accepted. If the license is not in English it must be accompanied by an International Driver Permit or a Certified Translation of the license.

Does JUCY charge a fee for young drivers?

Yes. Drivers aged 20 or under will be charged a young driver surcharge fee.

Do JUCY rentals come with bedding and linen included?

Yes, the vehicle comes with a duvet, pillows, sheets, towels and cookware.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Yes. JUCY's minimum campervan rental period is 5 days however at peak times of the year (Christmas and Easter amongst others) this can increase.

Does JUCY offer unlimited kilometres?

Yes, the hire will include unlimited kilometres.

Can I include additional drivers on my JUCY Rental?

Yes, $2 per driver per day. Drivers must be added to the rental agreement either at the start of the rental or by visiting a branch during the rental period. Drivers cannot be added via email or over the phone.

Can I hire Baby or Child Seats with JUCY?

Yes. JUCY have front and rear facing baby seats and front facing booster seats for children up to 7. These can be requested at the time of booking.

Is Freedom Camping available in Australia?

Yes, however many councils impose restrictions or prohibit Freedom Camping and enforce this with large fines. Determining whether you can freedom camp in a particular location or not can be tricky. With so many low cost designated campsites and holiday parks such as Family Parks, Top Parks and Big4, there are plenty of alternative overnight stay options to explore.

Are there restrictions on where I can drive a JUCY Campervan?

JUCY vehicles can only be driven on sealed roads with the exception of access roads to commercially recognised campgrounds. JUCY vehicles specifically cannot be driven on beaches, tracks, fire trails, fields or across sand.

Can I take the JUCY vehicle to Kangaroo Island?

Yes, you can take the vehicle to Kangaroo Island, however you must stick to sealed roads only.

Can I pay the bond with JUCY using a debit card?

Yes. JUCY accepts Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards for payment of the bond. Please make sure sufficient funds are available on your debit card to cover the applicable bond amount.

Is there a surcharge for collecting/returning a vehicle on a Public Holiday?

Yes. JUCY applies a $100 surcharge on New Year's Day, Australia Day (26th January), Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day (25th April) and Boxing Day. JUCY branches are closed on Christmas Day.

Does JUCY charge credit card fees?

Yes. To offset credit card processing fees JUCY will apply a 2% surcharge to Mastercard and Visa cards and 4% for American Express.

How do I pay for Road Tolls?

All JUCY vehicles are fitted with a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) E-Tag. If you incur any tolls JUCY will supply your details, including your credit card details, to RMS. You must pay RMS the tolls incurred and a service fee of $3.30 for each calendar day on which the vehicle incurs a toll.

What happens if I incur a Traffic infringement whilst renting a JUCY vehicle?

All traffic infringements incurred are the responsibility of the hirer. JUCY charges an administration fee of $60 per infringement in order to have the penalty notice transferred into the name of the hirer. The infringement authority may take several weeks to process the transfer meaning notification may be received well after your rental period has ended.
