Paying for your car hire is simple with DriveNow, most car reservations will be booked with the “Pay on collection” rate. This means the vehicle rental cost and any direct insurance or requested items will be due to pay at the depot when collecting your vehicle.
If you choose to take car insurance through “Prosura” on the booking page, the cost of this insurance is payable at time of booking and the booking page will request card details before confirming your reservation.
If you would instead like to take the vehicle providers direct insurance options, then this can be chosen and paid for directly at the depot.
As payment for the reservation is due to pay directly to the vehicle provider, the charge will be in the local currency of the pick-up location. Please ensure you check your card allows international transactions if travelling overseas, check your banks applicable international transaction surcharges and check the applicable exchange rates with your bank.
If “Prosura” insurance has been selected on the booking page, this item will be charged in AUD.
Credit/Debit card requirements differ between the car hire suppliers and locations. Click on the “Important information” button on the booking page to view the terms and conditions for your selected vehicle. Credit/Debit card requirements can be found under “Credit Card Policies” and “Debit Card Policies”. The car supplier will apply credit card surcharges for any payments at pick up, this information can be found in the same location as above.
Not all car hire locations/suppliers allow debit cards and some have restrictions on what credit cards can be used. It is important you review this information before confirming a booking to ensure you hold an accepted card for your hire.
Cards generally will only be accepted if they are under the name of the driver listed on the reservation and provided with a matching ID/passport.
