On and Off Airport
Off-airport branches are often cheaper, but you may need a shuttle or your own transport to reach them. Check how collection works before you book.
Search results show whether each airport branch is "On-airport" or "Off-airport", under the rental company's name. Some branches are off-airport to keep prices down, because rental companies are usually charged extra for having a desk or cars at the airport.
What does this mean?
On-airport
The rental company has a desk at the airport where you check in. The car is usually at the airport or nearby. On-airport doesn't guarantee that the car is at the terminal. Some on-airport branches still need you to take a shuttle or make your own way to a nearby collection area, so check the branch's collection process before you book.
Off-airport
The rental company doesn't have a desk at the airport. Shuttles to the branch are usually provided, but you may need to make your own way there to check in and collect the car. Most off-airport branches are near the airport, sometimes in a neighbouring suburb. Check the branch hours before you book, so you have time to get from the terminal to the branch while it is open.
