Suitable Times for Drop Off
Depot opening hours, choosing a drop-off time and planning your last day so you return your campervan on time.
General depot hours
Most campervan depots in Australia have limited opening hours, generally around 9:00am to 3:30pm. Hours and days vary by location, so check them before you book.
Do selected times change the price?
When you book campervan hire in Australia, you pay per calendar day, not per 24 hours. This means your pick-up and drop-off times don’t need to match. You can select a 9:00am pick-up and a 3:00pm return for the same number of rental days. Check the depot hours and choose the times that make the most of your holiday.
Selecting a drop-off time
After selecting your vehicle, choose your pick-up and drop-off times in step 1 on the DriveNow booking request page. To see all the times you can request, click the drop-down box next to the travel date. To check the depot’s general opening hours and the address for your selected location, click “Show address”.
Are the selected times locked in?
The times you select on the booking page are sent to the rental company as your preferred times. Some depots also require you to make an appointment if you’re returning on certain days (weekends or public holidays). If you need to organise an appointment with the depot, your booking confirmation will include instructions.
After-hours drop-off
After-hours drop-off is generally not available and is at the rental company's discretion. If you'd like to request it, check whether it's an option before you book.
