Required Documents for Pickup

When Picking Up Your Vehicle

Having all necessary documents ready at pickup is crucial to avoid delays and complications. This section outlines the required documentation when picking up your campervan

What Documents Do l Need to Have at Pick-up?

Once you arrive at the camper branch, make your way inside with your luggage and approach the check-in counter. Your campervan provider’s team will look after you from here.

As they will be expecting you, all you need to provide is your name and your driver’s licence. Anyone in your group that wishes to drive on your journey will also be required to provide a driver’s licence.

What Type of Driver’s Licence is Required to Hire a Campervan?

To hire and drive a camper, you need a current unrestricted full car driving license in English. Camper brands Apollo and Cheapa Campa require that the full license has been held for more than 2 years.

I Have an International Licence - What Else is Needed?

If you are travelling on an International Driver Permit, you will also need to provide your full local licence of your country.

My Licence is not in English - Can l Still be One of the Drivers?

If your driver's licence is not written in English, you will need to provide an accredited English translation along with your full local licence, or alternatively, an International Driver Permit.

Can l Be One of the Drivers if l Have Restrictions on My Licence?

If you are travelling on an Australian Green P Plate (P2) licence or a restricted New Zealand licence, you can only travel with these campervan brands – Camperman, Jucy Campers, Spaceships or Travellers Autobarn.

Can l Add Extra Items at the Time of Check-in?

At check-in, the staff will run through your booking details, what is included and offer some options that you may wish to add. The team will talk through the accident liability options and which cover is suitable for you. At this time, you will be asked for credit card details to place on file and for the bond amount.

Expert Tip

Take your reservation confirmation with you, just so you can refer to it if the branch staff have any questions regarding which items you have requested or booked.
