Toll Roads in Australia
Some large motorways in Australia charge toll fees, these are electronically tolled and charged via an e-tag or by a camera scanning the number plate. It's important to check with your vehicle provider for their process on how to pay tolls as some providers will have additional fees if tolls are left unpaid.
Notable Toll Roads
- Victoria – City Link (M1) and Eastlink (M3)
- New South Wales - M2, M5, M7, Lane Cove Tunnel, Military Road E-Ramps, the Eastern Distributor, the Cross City Tunnel and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel.
- Queensland - Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges, Gateway Extension, Logan Motorway, Clem 7 and the Go Between Bridge
How to pay tolls
A lot of our vehicle providers in Australia have now set up automatic tolling. With automatic tolling, the toll will be paid by the vehicle provider who will then charge your card that was provided during the pick-up process.
Other vehicle providers require you to purchase their Toll pass, a “Day pass” directly with the toll company or some may also request you contact the toll company directly to pay the tolls accrued during travel.
Check with your rental company when picking up your vehicle as to whether they provide Toll passes. Alternatively contact the Toll Company per the below.
