How to request optional extras with your campervan booking, when you pay for them, and a guide to typical prices.

What extras can I add?

After you select your vehicle and continue with the reservation, you can request your extras in Step 2 - Review Quote and Request Additional Options. If you're unsure what to choose, contact DriveNow and we can guide you.

Extras include chairs, a table, extra bedding, a gas bottle, a fan heater, GPS and liability reduction. Our equipment checklist lists the items you can ask for. Not every item is available with every rental company or vehicle type.

When do I request and pay for extras?

To save time on collection day, request the items you need in advance rather than adding them at the depot. You can still add or remove items while you're at the branch. With some rental companies, you can also change them during online check-in before you arrive.

Extras you don't pay for when you book are usually paid for at pick-up. Your booking confirmation shows which items are payable at pick-up. See charges at pick-up for the full list.

How much does it cost?

Generally, extras are charged per hire. The exceptions are the extra driver fee and GPS, which are charged per day. The prices below are a general guide. Your quote shows the price for your vehicle.

Chairs - $12-20/hire
Table - $23-29/hire
Gas bottle - $25-$42/hire
Extra driver fee - $2-4/day
Fan/heater - $18-20/hire
GPS - $9-10/day

First aid kit

Some rental companies supply a first aid kit in the vehicle. You're only charged for it if it's been opened.

Expert Tip

Most all-inclusive packages include a few basic extras, such as chairs, a table or an extra driver, as well as excess reduction. If you want those items anyway, compare the package price with adding them separately. An all-inclusive package can also make the trip simpler, although the rental company's exclusions still apply.
