PARK IN PROFILE: BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park, NSW

Where: Ochtertyre Street, Deniliquin.

10 words or less: river life, great bushwalking, friendly country atmosphere.

The lowdown: The trick here is you can either grab a Sydney campervan rental or Sydney car hire and do the 7-hour trek down south to reach BIG4 Deniliquin Holiday Park, or grab a Melbourne car rental and scoot down the Hume and onto the Northern Highway for a 4-hour journey north to reach the Riverina region hotspot. Deniliquin Holiday Park can be described as “resort style” accommodation set on the banks of the beautiful Edward River. The park has riverfront cabin or site accommodation, perfect for adventurous types looking to test their waterskiing skills or take the park’s pontoon boat out to reel in that night’s dinner. For those looking for something a little more laidback, the beach to beach walking track is a picturesque path from McLean Beach following the Edward River past towering red gum trees and sandy beaches finishing up at the Murray Valley Regional Park. There’s more to discover within the park itself with a swim in the park’s heated pool, a game of mini golf,  giant jumping pillow, Go-Karts or a hit of tennis before settling in for an outdoor movie.
