NYX Festival 2026: Four Days Under the Stars in Far North Queensland

If you’re into music, art and camping culture with a laid-back yet vibrant community vibe, mark your calendar for 19–22 June 2026. That’s when the NYX Festival returns to the lush landscapes near Ravenshoe in North Queensland for its Winter Solstice celebration. It’s one of Australia’s more intimate and immersive arts and music gatherings, set on a huge rural property that feels a world away from the usual festival crowd crush.  FYI - NYX (pronounced - 'nicks') is the Greek Goddess of the Night.

What It’s All About

NYX Festival is a mix of music, arts, lifestyle and workshops across a long weekend. Think electronic beats (psytrance, techno, downbeat, bass and more), funky art installations, market stalls, performances and activities that lean into community and creativity as much as the music. It’s been growing steadily as a unique festival experience in Queensland’s bushland, blending outdoor camping with a rich cultural programme.

A Quick Look at Its History

While exact attendance numbers aren’t widely published, past editions (including the 2025 event) have been described as “booming” and show a building reputation for drawing a loyal crowd of festival lovers from around Australia. It’s not a mass-market event like some coastal festivals, but its remote setting and tight-knit vibe make it feel like a community coming together rather than a huge commercial gig.

Who’s on the Line-Up for 2026

The official 2026 music lineup hasn’t been fully announced on the main site yet. Historically, NYX has focused on a broad electronic music palette with both local and interstate acts across multiple stages. Their music page suggests an eclectic mix from genres like psytrance, house, techno and more, bringing together artists who push boundaries in electronic sounds.

When and Where

The festival runs from 19 to 22 June 2026 at a remote 30,000-acre property near Ravenshoe, about 25 minutes from Innot Hot Springs on the Atherton Tablelands in Cairns, Queensland. It’s really about embracing the Queensland winter with clear skies and cool nights perfect for camping and dancing under stars.

Tickets and How to Get Them

Tickets are on sale now with a range of pricing tiers that have been selling fast. Options include festival entry passes, car passes, early entry add-ons, powered RV/camping spaces and glamping upgrades. You can grab yours directly through the NYX Festival site ticket page.

New for 2026: Powered Camping for Campers and RVs

One of the big 2026 upgrades is powered camping sites. These give you a 6×6 m space with a 15 amp power point (bring your own lead or hire one there) so you can enjoy your creature comforts even while camping in the bush. There’s no grey water disposal on site, so you’ll need to keep waste contained in your own system, but it’s a great way to stay comfortable without losing that outdoor vibe.

This setup suits motorhomes, camper vans and larger rigs that want a bit more convenience than traditional tent camping. Facilities like standard festival showers and toilets are available for everyone, with powered sites adding that extra layer of comfort.

Remember

When visit Far North Queensland don't forget to pay your respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which you travel,  their elders past, present and emerging.  It's also important to remember that the environment is very fragile, you should leave only foot prints and take only photos.
