People call it “the last frontier” of Far North Queensland. It’s not until you drive 30 seconds out of the centre of town that you gain a true appreciation for how rugged and remote this place is. One of the best places to go off-road and explore is the stunning Trevethan Falls. Swing on a rope or simply relax in the cool, refreshing waters. Just make sure you ask the locals in town for directions!

The Tablelands
The Tablelands is one of the less well travelled roads of Far North Queensland, but it’s worth every kilometre. Lake Eacham is a great spot for a swim, while Lake Barrine is a great place for a wildlife cruise and warm tea and scones. The waterfalls circuit is hugely popular with tourists.
