Celebrate Restaurant Month in Auckland

Every August, the top restaurants around central Auckland join forces in a citywide celebration of all things delicious. Whilst the month is drawing to a close there's still time to join in.

Eateries of all descriptions - from crepe cafes to South American barbecues and Japanese teppan-yaki - offer their best fare at ridiculously discounted prices.

You'll find at least one dining special or Restaurant Month-exclusive set menu at each restaurant that's participating, so don't be shy - try a little of everything!

Restaurant Month 2013 is now well underway, and there is still plenty of time to sample Auckland's best before the month's end.

Here are three of our top picks for the month, all within easy reach with your car rental:

Wildfire Churrascaria

Meat lovers be warned - Wildfire will be a seriously addictive experience. It's like a buffet of New Zealand's finest meats, except you don't have to get out of your seat once - the waiters bring the best selection of food right to your plate!

There's something for everyone, from succulent chicken and sausages to perfectly cooked beef, lamb and pork.

This eatery also offers a selection of seafood, including crispy calamari and fresh New Zealand salmon.

Raviz

If you're looking for something a bit more highbrow than the butter chicken at your local food court, check out Raviz for some of Auckland's best Indian cuisine.

This restaurant offers an impressive range of curries, including some you might not have even heard of - why not try a Saagwala for a unique spinach-based dish?

There are two locations within the CBD, at Hobson Street and Customs Street West, so you'll have no problem finding one with your car hire.

Daikoku Quay Street

Even when your meal is out-of-this-world amazing, it can get a bit monotonous eating it with your knife and fork.

So why not go somewhere where the chefs literally throw the food into your mouth?

Daikoku on Quay Street is a fantastic place to try the unique teppan-yaki experience, where specially trained chefs cook your food directly in front of you - it's half meal, half show!
