Catch some winter sports action with a Queenstown car hire!

Reasons to Book With DriveNow

Queenstown is famous in New Zealand and around the world for its scenic beauty and tranquillity.

Things are set to get a lot louder in the town until the end of the month though, after the Winter Games NZ 2013 kicked off yesterday (August 15) - so book in a car rental and witness the action for yourself!

Hosted in world-class venues around Queenstown and central Otago, the games run until August 25 and bring together some of the world's best winter athletes as they ski and snowboard their way to glory.

A thrilling programme of events has been assembled to cater to all fans over the next week.

Why not begin by enjoying the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup halfpipe event on August 17? Watch as daring skiers perform outrageous tricks and battle to outdo each other.

The best part is that it's a free event, so there's really no excuse not to have a bit of fun and enjoy some winter action.

If you've always been intrigued about what that peculiar sport curling is all about, check out the fours and mixed doubles event at Naseby on August 18.

Fans of snowboarding will be treated to the game's elite on the same day, with stars such as Shelly Gotlieb expected to shine.

For a bit of family fun in between the events, you can even let the kids join in some activities themselves - a Family Fun Day will be held on the 17th August at the Remarkables Red Barn, offering bouncy castles and face painting for the little ones.

The events are held in four venues within easy reach of Queenstown - the Cardrona Alpine Resort, Coronet Peak, Snow Farm NZ and the Maniototo Curling International Rink at Naseby.

With your car hire sorted, you'll have no problem getting close to the action!
