You’ll also come across the Space Place at Carter Observatory, which showcases interactive displays. Best of all, is the historic telescopes and the digital planetarium, which you can explore.

Lord of the Rings tour From Wellington, you can join tours which take you to some of the locations made famous by Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings. Journey through the scenic countryside, which would be more familiar to LOTR fans as Middle Earth. You’ll also tour the Weta Studios, where you’ll learn about the movie’s production and behind-the-scenes stories.

Visit Oriental Bay When in Wellington, one must spend some time along the city’s waterfront. Relax on the shore or venture along the boardwalk. There are many cafes, parks and bars dotted along the shore. On weekends, crowds flock to the area to browse market stalls. It’s a busy part of Wellington, but also very relaxing.
