Britz Campervan Rental Insurance Options

Britz offer a number of different options to raise your level of insurance and reduce your excess liability in the event of an accident.

Your rental fees include standard insurance protection which requires a bond of AU$7500 and will be debited to your credit card on picking up the vehicle from Britz. This bond is credited back to your card on return of the vehicle subject to any damage.

Note that bonds and any other credit card transaction with Britz are subject to surcharge fees - 1.75% for Visa and MasterCard and 4.5% for American Express. On refunding the bond the surcharge is returned for Visa and MasterCard cardholders. Where American Express cards have been used the surcharge is not returned.

Remember to check that there are no daily withdrawal restrictions on your card that may prevent the bond being debited.

Britz Insurance Options - 01 April 2009 to 31 March 2010

Britz recommend their 'Britz Bonus Pack' . It includes both the Excess Reduction 2 and the No Worries Cover , reducing your excess to NIL. View a copy of the 2009-2010 (April-March) Bonus Pack for further details.

All Campervans (excluding the ROOKIE)

Standard Excess

Your daily rental rates include standard protection, where you leave an AU$7,500 bond, which will be debited to your credit card. This amount is held as your excess. To reduce the excess Britz offer two options:

Excess Reduction Option 1

• 2WD – AU$22 per day (maximum charge of AU$1100)
• 4WD – AU$27 per day (maximum charge of AU$1350)

The excess is reduced to $2500, which is held as your security deposit. This amount will be debited to your credit card.

Excess Reduction Option 2

• 2WD - AU$40 per day (maximum charge of AU$2000)
• 4WD - AU$49 per day (maximum charge of AU$2450)

The excess is reduced to Nil (2WD) & $440 (4WD). The security deposit of $220 (2WD) or $440 (4WD) is recorded as an imprint against your credit card when the vehicle is collected. Excess Reduction Option 2 is included in the Britz Bonus Pack.

No Worries Cover

In addition to Excess Reduction Option 2, this one-off payment covers you for accidental overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle. Please note that overhead and underbody damage cover is excluded unless the No Worries Cover option has been purchased. The No Worries Cover is included in the Britz Bonus Pack.

ROOKIE - Standard Excess

Your daily rental rates include standard protection, where you leave an AU$2500 bond, which will be debited to your credit card. This amount is held as your excess.

ROOKIE - Excess Reduction Option

• AU$19 per day (maximum charge of AU$570)

If you purchase the excess reduction option the security deposit is $220, which is recorded as an imprint against your credit card when the vehicle is collected.
