If you're after a great set of wheels with on-board accommodation for you and your partner to escape the city then the Britz 2 berth Rookie is perfect. A Recent addition to the Britz Australian fleet, the Rookie comes with a double bed in the back, mini-fridge, annexe and 2 camping tolls and a picnic table. Built on the reliability of Volkswagen, this camping-car has air-conditioning and heating in the driver's cabin, runs on unleaded petrol with power steering and manual 5 speed transmission.

Camping-cars may not have all the comforts that campervan and motorhomes offer, but they are a cheaper and for some, more flexible option than their larger cousins and becoming more popular.

The Rookie is subject to a minimum 3 day hire (most Campervans are minimum 5 day) and based on calendar day not hour as with regular car rental. One Way rental is subject to a minimum of 10 days however there are no one-way rental fees with the Rookie and is available for hire by drivers 18 and over. The Rookie is currently only available from the Britz branches located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns. Britz Australia Campervans come equipped with the essentials. There are some variations depending upon the features of the rental vehicle. Note that Bed linen is included in the optional hire items. In essence you can expect the following:

Kitchen: Plates and Bowls, Cups and glasses, Cutlery, Bottle/Can opener, cooking utensils, pans and Frying pan, Kettle and tea towels

The excess insurance reduction options are highly recommended for peace of mind in the event of an accident. These vary starting from $20 per day, full details available during the selection and booking process.

A Bond is required on any vehicle hired at pick up. If paid by Credit Card this will be debited and reimbursed on return of the vehicle. The Bond reflects (and is reduced by) the insurance excess option taken. If no excess option is taken a bond of $1800 is required on the Rookie rental. Bonds are deposited directly with the vehicle supplier.
