HOLIDAY parks are experiencing a boom time period, there’s no doubt about that, with more and more Australians realising the idea of a road trip holiday staying at the new breed of caravan parks is not only a financially convenient option, but also a fun one.
So, where do you begin? Let’s start with Victoria and, as a starting point, let’s choose the state’s capital city for collection of your Melbourne campervan rental. Then let’s look at one of the more popular holiday park chains – Family Parks. The facilities at most holiday parks these days are ideal for campervanners [...]

Barwon Heads was next on the agenda for the Everitt clan and it was an easy 90-minute road trip from Melbourne or if you are coming along the Great Ocean Road in an Adelaide campervan rental then its only a 20-minute deviation from Geelong.
Barwon Heads is the most beautiful beachside village you are likely to see, especially in Victoria. There’s a tonne of beach for everyone to enjoy, including ocean, river and estuary – you name it, they have it. The Barwon Heads Caravan Park was built on multi-million dollar land which runs right along the river/estuary. There are [...]

UNDER normal circumstances if someone were to ask me along on a road trip from Melbourne to Nagambie, a less than two-hour drive, my first question would be, ‘Why?’.
Understandable enough, especially when you consider there really isn’t a lot on offer aside from being a humble little country town of under 2000 people. Well, that is until you realise what’s tucked around the corner by way of wineries, a super holiday park and a whopper man-made lake to whet the appetite for water activity fanatics.
On top of that, the road trip from Melbourne is an enchanted one, but [...]

Omeo is one of those places in Victoria you wouldn’t automatically slot into your itinerary, but it’s a great little destination in the east of the state and worthwhile road trip experience from Melbourne.
Omeo is tucked away at the base of the Snowy Mountains, just a 90-minute drive north of Bairnsdale or a five-hour drive along the Princes Freeway, Princes Highway and Great Alpine Rd after you grab a Melbourne car rental in the CBD. There’s much to explore along the way if heading along the southern route through the Gippsland region.
The town itself flies under the radar [...]

EVERY Autumn, there’s a road trip in Victoria that every lover of food and wine must experience. Tastes of Rutherglen is a festival every long weekend in March when two worlds collide – an explosion of taste sensations, where the best chefs unite with old and new wineries in the region to match up food with the glorious liquid gold on offer. Best of all, if you can’t make it on the long weekend don’t despair – they double up again the following weekend!
People flock from everywhere, whether it’s coming from the north in your Sydney car rental (500km, [...]

Port Fairy Festival Campervan Hire – Melbourne
RAPIDLY becoming Australia’s leading Folk event, the Port Fairy Folk Festival takes place over the Victorian Labor Day long weekend each March And this year falls on 11-14th March. Located 290 kilometres west of Melbourne, Port Fairy attracts performers from around the world and 2010 saw it complete its 34th festival with record number of visitors and artists.
The increasing popularity has meant the limited Port Fairy accommodation is in much greater demand including Campervan and Motorhome hire. In recent years, particularly 2010, DriveNow has had to turn away many Festival visitors as [...]

MARYBOROUGH in central Victoria is an ideal destination for that weekend away, especially if you want to experience a short campervan break with the family.
After picking up your Melbourne Campervan Rental it’s only 168km along the Calder freeway and Pyrenees highway, take your time and enjoy the many interesting towns and historical sites along the way.
First stop for a comfort break and a cuppa should be the botanical gardens at Kyneton. Dating back to 1858, these attractive gardens are home to many unusual trees, most listed by the National Trust of Australia, including the strange [...]

RENMARK is a town often left off the itinerary of campervanners and roadtrippers, but we believe you would be doing yourself an absolute injustice by not stopping by this beaut place.
Only a two-hour drive from Mildura (which is a six-hour drive from Melbourne), Renmark also is set on the banks of the mighty Murray River and is home to the River Rambler. This amazing houseboat takes you on an afternoon of discovery that you are unlikely to forget. The River Rambler crew collect you from your campervan door (right outside the Renmark Riverfront Big4 Holiday Park, that is) and [...]

AFTER leaving the quaint little village of Rainbow we head north to the stunning Sunraysia region on the banks of the mighty Murray River to Mildura. It’s a different route than normal, as most will head to Victoria’s capital city first to collect their Melbourne Campervan Rental
Mildura is a happening place and I personally believe it’s really understated. There is so much to do and it’s all really close: winery tours and wine tasting, citrus farm visits, Murray River cruises, great restaurants or even the magnificent Perry Sand Hills. Everything is close by and easily accessible.
We stayed at [...]

DO you have a four-legged family member holding you back from that relaxing dream campervan holiday? No problem. I’ve discovered the most incredible place in southern Victoria where you can take your furry best friend with you.
Forget expensive boarding kennels and any idea of a last-minute calls to family and friends for doggy-sitting duties. And there will be no more separation anxiety and psychotherapy sessions for your pampered pooch if you dare to read on, so start packing those doggie bags and leads and prepare to hit the highway.
Nestled among gently rolling hills of the enchanting Tarra Valley [...]
