OK, so you’ve decided to take the family on a road trip, or you’ve roped in a friend or partner to hit the road with you. You’ve then picked up your DriveNow rental camper or car hire in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and you’re staring at the open road. Where to now?
Sometimes it’s good to be spontaneous and have no set plans, but often its better to have a broad idea of what you want, with plenty of room for change along the way – a tribal rewards membership with Family Parks Australia could be just what you [...]

DID you know that 7 million Australians have visited a holiday park in the past two years and that 9.3million plan to holiday in the caravanning and holiday parks industry in the next two years? Those are the figures from a Consumer Report commissioned by the Caravan, RV and Accommodation Industry of Australia (CRVA) recently.
Australia campervan rental is also proving to be a great option for those wanting to dip their toe in the great outdoors way of life Down Under and not have to worry about buying a van before hitting the road. It’s a try-before-you-buy approach [...]

SO, you’ve hit Brisbane, picked up the keys to your DriveNow campervan rental and thought, ‘wow, Queensland is big. Where do I start?’
Well, Nambour, 101kms north of Brisbane is the home of three “big’’ attractions, so that’s a good jot down for later. But to begin with take advantage of a few days on the Gold Coast, enjoy the fabulous holiday parks and check out the Big Golfball in Broadbeach and the Big Hard Rock Café guitar in Surfers Paradise during your stay.
When you are ready to head north again, the obvious attraction to see first in Nambour [...]

In part two of our big attractions series, Scott Podmore suggest some more ideas for hitting the bright lights of Melbourne in a DriveNow car rental or campervan hire and hunting down the big stuff in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
MELBOURNE is known for it’s arts culture and fine food, but it’s not above jumping on the “big’’ bandwagon with its famous neon Skipping girl Vinegar sign. The sign, in Victoria Street, Abbotsford, is Victorian Heritage-registered and one of the state’s most significant landmarks. It was first established in the 1930s featuring “Little Audrey’’ and a smaller version [...]

AUSTRALIA is a big country. We like to think big. In fact, it’s estimated there are more than 150 “big’’ attractions in this great nation of ours. So if you’ve ever dreamed of making it big in Australia, this is the first of a three-part series where I take a closer look at … well … the big picture.
Coff’s Harbour in NSW is a prime destination for those on the lookout for big stuff. Pick up a DriveNow hire car or camper from Sydney and take a spin for a leisurely and scenic six-and-a-half hour drive. Or, if you [...]

One of Victoria’s most popular and most written about Car journeys is the Great Ocean Road. Officially starting at Torquay and finishing at Allansford the road is just over 240 kilometres long and includes some of Victoria’s premiere attractions.
For our Trip we picked up a hire car in Melbourne through DriveNow (that’s the Ubiquitous plug out of the way) and headed south down the freeway to Geelong about 60 mins away. We decided to make the outward journey down the Great Ocean Road and cut inland for the return trip via the Princes Highway.
First piece of advice – [...]

SO, you’ve picked up your car rental or campervan and are wondering how to best spend the next 48 hours in Tasmania? Well, it really depends on the season.
If you’re on a winter break, perhaps check out the state’s eclectic west coast. On the way, be sure to explore Cradle Mountain. If your timing’s right, you might get in a good afternoon of skiing or, at the very least, a scenic walk around Dove Lake. Spend a night tucked up in the Cradle Mountain Lodge or one of the varieties of self-contained cabins available. After a hearty brekky, keep [...]

LEAVING the cold of the south behind, team Everitt moved on to the beachside haven of Byron Bay. And what a welcome sight!
After three weeks of grey skies, unloading and the campervan rental and setting up at the First Sun Holiday Park in full sunshine was glorious. We thought this was the best camping park in the area because it was located right in the heart of the action.
Looking for adventure, we headed south along the stunning beach and took the one-hour return walk around the coastline and up to the famous lighthouse. It’s a fairly easy [...]

VISITORS to Victoria’s capital looking for a weekend day-trip may not know the Yarra Valley is a prime location and only an hour from the CBD in your car rental.
