HOLIDAY parks are experiencing a boom time period, there’s no doubt about that, with more and more Australians realising the idea of a road trip holiday staying at the new breed of caravan parks is not only a financially convenient option, but also a fun one.
So, where do you begin? Let’s start with Victoria and, as a starting point, let’s choose the state’s capital city for collection of your Melbourne campervan rental. Then let’s look at one of the more popular holiday park chains – Family Parks. The facilities at most holiday parks these days are ideal for campervanners [...]

Barwon Heads was next on the agenda for the Everitt clan and it was an easy 90-minute road trip from Melbourne or if you are coming along the Great Ocean Road in an Adelaide campervan rental then its only a 20-minute deviation from Geelong.
Barwon Heads is the most beautiful beachside village you are likely to see, especially in Victoria. There’s a tonne of beach for everyone to enjoy, including ocean, river and estuary – you name it, they have it. UNDER normal circumstances if someone were to ask me along on a road trip from Melbourne to Nagambie, a less than two-hour drive, my first question would be, ‘Why?’.
Understandable enough, especially when you consider there really isn’t a lot on offer aside from being a humble little country town of under 2000 people. On top of that, the road trip from Melbourne is an enchanted one, but [...]

AT about a leisurely four hours after you pick up your rental car in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast, Goondiwindi is easy to get to with great roads all the way.
It’s a great little town and well-known for being the home of famous racehorse, Gunsynd. The legendary galloper still adorns the street murals and even has his very own statue and museum at the town’s Tourist Information Centre. Gunsynd’s story is a beauty and you get a real feel for the town upon discovering it. A hard-working country town built on trust and loyalty.
Goondiwindi is home to [...]

SOME of the country’s happiest cows can be found grazing on the cliff-top at East’s Beach Holiday Park in Kiama as they join you in casting an eye over the beautiful blue water views as far as the eye can see. It’s a great drive after picking up a camper or rental car in Sydney, cruising for a leisurely one and a half to two-hour trip along the Princess Highway, Metroad 1 and Southern Freeway.
For an extended version, why not veer off towards the Southern Highlands and catch some wonderful little towns like Bowral and Berrima, before swinging back [...]
